Laser Mouse Problem

I have a problem that I haven't seen asked about before. On my microsoft laser mouse, I have a 'thumb' button that I use when I want the magnifier to come up. It would always take a while to 'work' after first booting up but I suspect that was due to all the other programs loading. The problem Now is that ..
